What sucks worse than blogs??? Facebook and Twitter!
You know when blogger first became semi-popular, I remember thinking about it as a fad and how stupid it was in comparison to something like IRC. Instead of just talking in real time to people who actually wanted to chat with them, people could now just spout nonsense to a non-listening world.
Well Twitter and Facebook are basically a blog that requires your friends to listen and be annoyed by all your BS. I especially hate Twitter as it's one of the most useless applications ever.

Xlack Download Revisited Revisited
Why has google favored me so poorly for my xlack download posts on supremetechs.com. It should be on the first page for the keyword search phrase of "xlack" or "xlack download" but it isn't. I can't find it actually. My site is actually the only place you can find the script to download. The number one site xlack.tk is a placeholder page now. It is totally irrelevant to the search now. Google, I'm sorry to say this to you, but you need to step up your game on the search indexing. Yahoo is, how we say, pwning you at the moment, and you are about to lose at least one faithful searcher.
Avett Brothers Show
I just returned home from an Avett Brothers show at the Tivoli Theater in Chattanooga. It was a good enough show. I'm not the biggest fan by any stretch. My father-in-law likes them and I went with him. I respect what they do, and I'm sure that given the time I would probably get into their music more. Currently, there's a few things that annoy me about them.
First, I'll say that the band has one of the best following I've ever seen. The entire theater was singing every word to every song. They aren't a huge band but thousands of people packed into the theater knew all their songs. I was amazed at this. That is the biggest "pro" I saw. The band is good to their fans and their fans are amazing.
Now on to some of the things I didn't like. I didn't like that the crowd loved certain lyrics and shouted them like they were supposed to be profound words. The lyrics seems to make no sense or were mediocre at best. I understand that it's a new age of music and these guys are pioneers but just when I thought music may turn for the better, it seems that these new bands don't make a lot of sense.
The Avett Brothers also strum their instruments insanely. Again, I understand why the crowd would like it, but as a musician myself I find it to be just for show. They broke like five strings in the first hour from STRUMMING. Strings shouldn't break from strumming. They break from powerful bends like from say STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN. The more they beat/strummed the more the crowd cheered.
Finally, one other thing about the crowd that I found weird. There were girls everywhere. Some were with guys, but the majority of them were in groups of just girls. They were dancing and singing. Then there were groups of guys, dancing and singing. The guys were dancing with each other and it's like no one was straight. I was wondering if maybe the band had a huge gay following or something. One dude was pretty drunk and was singing very loudly. I couldn't hear the professional singers due to it actually. This guy jumps down two rows where an actual couple (male and female) are. He starts playing patty-cake with the dude and the girl is in between them.

Xlack Download
For some reason, Google de-indexed my main blog or something. At any rate, I had something rather useful on it, the only download link for the xlack xchat sysinfo script available on the internet. I think it's a bit ridiculous that Supremetechs isn't getting a better page rank though. It gets decent traffic and has many informative posts.
Find the most popular items on ebay
Wow, this free app is great for finding good deals on ebay. I just had to let everyone know about it, even if I did write it. With it, one can find the most watched items on eBay. This is a great indication of what is popular. So, if you know what everyone is looking at, you will know what everyone wants to buy. You will also know what items are the best deals, because most people watch the good deals so they can get in on it at the last minute. They also watch items in order to bookmark them, in case they want to show their friends later.
Check out whats-hot-weekly.com. It really is a great app.

Affiliate Spam
First, let me say that affiliate marketing is a double-edged sword. On one side, it can bring in a nice income. On the other, it kinda goes against my internet morals at times. My wife makes a good full time income doing it. I just started Monday. Part of me loves it, because I can now stay home with my family and still earn a living(hopefully). Then, there's this part of me that can't stand some of the techniques I have to use to gain traffic.
I came from a job in IS. I'm very tech savvy. I've been an internet junkie since it started catching on in the early nineties. One thing I've always hated is the advertisements. I normally use a popup blocker and adblock plus. This keeps me from seeing many of the more annoying ads anyway. However, there's no telling how much money people have earned off of my online spending.
There's a few types of people I've never really liked. Marketing, sales, law, and politics tend to produce some of the most dishonest people. The whole money making strategy of these categories of people tends to be about fooling or misdirecting people. So becoming a marketer myself feels sort of dirty.
I'd rather feel dirty and free to come and go as I please than to feel clean and sitting in a cube from 8 to 5 every day.
